I am interested in sharing thoughts about music and how to promote music. I have a website at www.leosbluesland.com

Tonight at 6pm all the KCSB staff members will have a meeeting concerning our upcoming pledge drive. Because we are non-commercial this is one of our only ways to raise money for our expenses. Typically I call all the record companies up and ask for cd's to raise funds and in return I am allowed to announce and raise awareness of their websites and products. I usually do that anyway but I can really push it this time of the year. I am looking for promo stuff so if you are interested in supporting our station this is the time to contact me. I am also making t-shirts of my radio show "Bluesland" to giveaway. I've made several prototypes and think I've finally found one to use.  If you are a dj for a non-commercail radio station what have you used that is effective for raising funds?

I look forward to this meeting because of all the new faces and enthusiasm of all the new dj's. Every quarter of the school year we have to apply for our show's. Because I am a member of the community I am at the mercy of the student board on whether I will be allowed to program. The student dj's are given priority and usually there are a lot of applications for shows. I've been at KCSB for 10 years now and have seen a lot of people/students come and go. Some have passed away and that is the most heartbreaking. I really enjoy it when past radio programmers come back to visit. All the past dj's always speak fondly of their expeirences and miss it. If you ever wanted to program a show do it!! I have always said going on the air is the best therapy and the most fun I've had.

Support your passion/music. Be alive. Fire other people up.

I will take pictures of the dj's tonight and post them on www.leosbluesland.com
